A 12-year-old single malt Scotch miniature whisky from the excellent Macallan distillery released for the Double Cask series, which sees whisky from Oloroso sherry seasoned American and European oak casks combine to create a harmonious expression.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Classic dried fruit territory, if less intense than the Sherry Oak expression. Aromatic butterscotch too.
Palate: Creamy and honeyed with some thick-cut marmalade, hints of ginger, cinnamon and warm pastries.
Finish: Fruity with vanilla and sultana.
